This is the perfect location in southwest Florida to bring your family for a quiet relaxing day at the beach with something to do for everyone. No loud music or rowdy spring break crowd, just the sounds of crashing waves and wildlife. Whether you want to try your hand at Stand-Up paddle boarding in the Gulf of Mexico or just reading you book on a comfortable beach lounge under an umbrella, Lovers Key is the place for you and your family.

When you get to Lovers Key, hop on the free tram down to the beach. South Beach currently has no amenities. The gazebo, tram shelter restrooms, and Hurricane Charlie’s were destroyed during Hurricane Ian. The tram will be dropping guests off 800ft from the beach on the north end of the south beach bridge by restrooms. The gift shop has cold water, beverages and some merchandise. The Discovery Center and boat ramp are closed. Please adhere to all posted signs and avoid closed areas. Please note: The park does not have electricity or drinking water.

Lovers Key is a 2.5 mile stretch of beautiful beach along the shore of the Gulf of Mexico that is known for among many thing the best place to find shells in Southwest Florida. From the North beach where Estero Bay and the Gulf of Mexico meet at Big Carlos pass all the way to the southernmost tip of Lovers key, shells are abundant. The locals love coming to Lovers Key and searching for the elusive shells they have been searching for.
